Description
When viewing the support manager ticket list page there is js in place to refresh the list every little while. If you are viewing a status tab other than 'Open' when this happens, the list will switch back to the 'Open' tab.

I'm not able to duplicate that behavior. For me, the page I'm looking at (e.g. 'closed') will update, but not the 'open' status.

You may want to test this in Google Chrome and see if it's browser-dependent.
