This will require some discussion on how best to implement. It's common to sell hosting and include a free domain name, so we need some way to enable this option (probably on the order form as an option when selecting "Domain and Other" or any future domain handling type) and have that override the price of the domain to make it essentially free.

Since registrar modules specify their type now, we should be able to detect an order for something that includes a domain. But there are some problems:

• Do we force only 1 year registrations for the free domain? What about TLDs with min 2 year registrations?
• Is the free domain for the first year or as long as the hosting is active? How can we tell if the hosting is active?
• If they cancel the hosting, should the domain automatically go back to the normal price?

Like I said, we got some figuring to do on this one.

UPDATE:

I think it would be ideal for the Order plugin to handle this, it is already aware that you are selling a domain because you must select "Domain and Other". So, when domain and other is selected, there could be an option for free domain.

If this is checked, show a list of package groups that this should apply to, preferably only those that can be ordered through this form.

Also might be good to include an option to specify what TLDs this will apply to, since some TLDs are expensive. A text box perhaps with a comma separated list. If blank, apply to all.

A free domain should not be able to be any TLD, some TLDs are very expensive. So, probably a list of TLDs that apply would be part of the setting.
