Description
The smart search does not currently search service fields. The reasoning it's not currently included is that searching service fields can be slow on large data sets.
Most users don't have a data set sufficient to result in any noticeable slowdown in searching service meta data.
My proposal is to create a new setting, probably a company setting, where items included within "Smart Search" may be defined through checkboxes.
For example..
[x] Client Search
[x] Invoice Search
[x] Transaction Search
..
[x] Service Search
..
By default, service search should be included in items to be searched. If however, it slows down the smart search, it may be disable by unchecking this box within the settings.
Open to further discussion.
Someone suggested that these items be a staff setting instead of a company setting, so that staff can configure this on a case by case basis.
